The Grands Carmes center brings together several LGBTQIA+ associations already present in Brussels, with the aim of creating synergy between their medical, social and cultural activities. The site is also designed to enable the associations to open up and engage in dialogue with the public, thanks to its location in the heart of the city, in a courtyard listed as a historical monument.
The courtyard, transformed into a garden, has been designed as the central space around which the various activities are organized. A greenhouse-café is a open, resolutely contemporary element of the courtyard, while separate entrances provide discreet access to the medical-social center.
