Nature has always been a fundamental source of inspiration for architecture, influencing design from its earliest origins. Throughout architectural history, we see countless examples of structures that directly imitate natural forms, embodying a deep reverence for the beauty, mystery, and dynamic energy found in the natural world. This imitation is more than a mere aesthetic choice; it reflects humanity’s innate desire to connect with nature and its forces.
Marking the landscape is not about controlling it, like establishing a city would be. In this way, architectural design becomes a dialogue, a way of embedding human presence into the natural terrain without overpowering it. The tower signals a point in the landscape, but also allows to create a new point of view, allowing the passer-by to see the river valley from a new perspective. The Healing Center allows for different relations with the environment of the small hills surrounding it. Close up, beautiful rocks are making a frame into a quiet image, right for a meditative activity, whereas in the upper levels the views open into a wide panorama and the sky, fitting social activities and gathering.
