Steel Lady House in Namsan, Seoul

The house is located just under the Nam mountain ring road. It had a complex set of regulatory pressure limiting the height while the land was very narrow. In response we gave a dense, excavated block shape to the house. A long staircase bores through the levels and offers views with deep bench-like windows. The stainless steel façade is softening the edges of this blunt block, with blurred reflections and a delicate lattice wrapping.
