Therapeutic Community for Women
in Molenbeek Saint-Jean
Year 2024 - In progress
Site Area: 145 ㎡
Gross Area; 385 ㎡
The project will create a women's therapeutic community, comprising individual rooms as well as communal areas and two terraces for the residents. This therapeutic communal living programme, as defined by the psycho-medical-social non-profit association LAMA and Solidarimmo, provides accommodation for women with substance use issues.
The house acts as a shelter and community for 9 women with a variety of backgrounds, allowing them to regain autonomy in society through supervised communal living. In the absence of a garden, the creation of two large terraces in front of the communal living areas on the first and second floors provide essential outdoor living space for the community. Communal living areas are spread over 3 floors: The living room, kitchen and dining room are located on the first floor, while the DIY workshop and the space dedicated to self-care (relaxation bathroom, fashion area) are on the second floor. The ground floor houses the centre's management offices for the LAMA, as well as a room for meetings and interviews.
