Science Education Center
in Daegu Olympic Park - Korea
Year 2024
Gross Area: 499 ㎡
The FUTURE SCIENCE PAVILION is a venue dedicated to educational exhibitions focusing on science and industry, key sectors for the development of the Daegu region in South Korea. The pavilion is located in the Olympic Park, which was inaugurated in 2001 for the Football World Cup.
The project offers various spaces designed for education and thematic exhibitions, capable of accommodating both school groups and the general public. As the exhibition spaces are self-contained and multi-purpose, it is the circulation between the different levels that plays a crucial role, offering a gradual discovery of the site through multiple itineraries. At the end of an outdoor spiral around the building, visitors are rewarded with a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. They can rest or attend presentations in an open-air auditorium.
