Jeju Island, in the south of the Korean Peninsula, was formed by the eruption of an underwater volcano about 2 million years ago. It enjoys a temperate climate and fertile land, which allows for the cultivation of fruit and the development of tourism.  In the south of the island, in a mandarin orchard, this small guesthouse and the adjacent house are delicately placed in a typical landscape of the island; terraced fields divided by rough basalt walls. The main material, red brick, has been used to create variable spatial arrangements, with outdoor rooms overlooking the agricultural landscape and openwork walls providing shade to the private terraces.
