Daycare Center for Addictions
in Anderlecht
Year 2024 - Permission phase in progress
Gross Area: 675 ㎡
The renovation project for the existing Day Center aims to enhance both its functionality and spatial qualities through the creation of a planted courtyard, the reorganization of interior spaces, and improvements in energy performance. In its current state, the layout does not allow for smooth operations or provide optimal safety and working conditions for healthcare staff. Large unused areas result in secondary spaces with no natural light and poor acoustic qualities. However, the building’s concrete grid structure offers a reliable foundation for the redesign.
A planted courtyard, carved into the roof of the existing building, becomes the heart of the project. It guides patients through the center and brings natural light not only into circulation areas but also into consultation rooms. Although some interior floor area is sacrificed, this is more than offset by the gains: improved working conditions for staff, a more rational distribution of functions, and an overall better atmosphere within the center.
The Center's contruction phase is planned for 2026
